logo design & branding.
Tom’s Diner is a Buffalo, NY staple located in the heart of Lockport, NY. With a long history of serving the Buffalo market, this little gem has a lot of personality and appeal. ninety two had the pleasure of updating and rebranding their logo identity along with their restaurant front window signage. We love our clients, even more so when they provide us with delicious food! Be sure to check them out if you are ever in the area.
First, we started exploring options based on discovery. For this logo design, we knew we had to implement the history of the brand within the rebrand. For a diner as old as this one, it was important that this aspect shined through. The original logo was simply a hand-painted type style on the front windows. Based on this, we kept that tradition within the new logo design, using a modernized handwriting style typeface. From there we executed the jukebox design to match.

This quaint little diner in the heart of Lockport was so much fun to work on. At ninety two, we love small businesses as it really gives us an opportunity to connect on a personal level with owners. We were able to execute their vision by creating a modern hand-style logo design, that not only embodies the history of their business but brings it up to date with modern times. We also redesigned their most important brand attribute—the ‘jukebox’!—this is what they are known for so they really wanted to update it and keep the tradition going. Whether it is road traffic or foot traffic, this outdoor window display is super compelling to look at and creates a certain appeal to new and recurring customers.
